Environmental Education Centre Lefkimmi-Salt House
KPE Corfu is a decentralized regional service of the Ministry of Education & Religions that is administratively subordinated to the Regional Directorate of Education of the Ionian Islands and is located in the area of Alykes in Lefkimmi. It is located in the area of ”special natural beauty” of Alykes of Lefkimmi which is part of the NATURA network (code GR2230003 and type B) and is one of the few wetlands left in Corfu. The building infrastructure includes: a) the restored buildings of the Venetian warehouses, b) the Administration building and c) the reconstructed former building of the weighbridge. The paved courtyard includes an open-air theater that can support non-mass events of a mild nature.
