Chlomos – Settlement
The traditional settlement of Chlomos is located on the east side of the mountain “Merovigli” of southern Corfu, at a height of 270 – 320 m. And was built in the 13th century. The scattered ruins on the slopes of the mountain and the existence of an altar of Apollo at the site of the current temple of the Brigadiers testify to the presence of inhabitants (probably cattle breeders) in this area, from pre-Christian times. The houses of the settlement are built around the main square and not along a main road. It is a traditional settlement with special architectural importance for the area.
